Monthly Archives: April 2008

1. The young man in this picture is Matt LaPorte.

2. The author of this article is Barbara LaPorte, his mother.

3. He was killed in the Virginia Tech shooting.

4. I felt that it takes a lot of power and courage to write about this tragedy.

5. Yes, i feel like this a lot. I have to realize that the “what if” is just a what if. It didn’t happen so move along.

6. I feel that she is an amazing person to forgive after someone took your child away from you. From my opinion, I could never do that.

7. Forgiveness is the ultimate empowerment. April 16 can be remembered as a very tragic day, or it can be remembered as the day that Matt reached perfection as a child of God. The fact that she can write this article and make a happy and wonderful sense of this situation is what made me reread this part.

8. I feel that it is strong. His mom is an extreme role model and shows that she is a true woman of God. I don’t know how many people would want to forgive after my son had been shot and killed. This woman has an extreme amount of courage and to forgive is the most powerful thing you can do. I feel bad for this woman and she has done an amazing job in backing up her son’s death.
