Tim Janus, 30, competed in a burrito championship eating contest and was the winner. The contest was for $3,000 and you had to eat 18 ounce burritos. He ate 10 and a half burritos in 12 minutes. Personally I think it’s cool that he could put down that much meat and potatoes and everything else.  I sure wouldn’t be able to do it but I’m happy for this guy.

I would say that the act of kindness that I did today was coming to my school for an open house. I believe that these acts are important because it shows that you care and you can do things for other people without being paid and just being nice in general.

I would have to say the best thing about here is probably the sports programs.  They’re serious, competitive, this is a good school if you like to play sports.  Plus we’re good at sports in this school.  Another really good thing about this high school is that it’s small and it’s easier to learn and ask questions than in a big school.

Iran’s president Mahmoud Amadinejad will turn out not coming to the ground zero site to pay his respects.  I think that its a nice attempt but some things seem suspicious about the visit.  Out of all the places that he could visit why the ground zero site?  It seems strange to me and many people all over the world.  It’s better that he won’t visit just cause of politics and for many other reasons.  Who knows what he was planning but it seems it has come to a stop.

I believe spirit day is important because you get to get ready for the upcoming season and everyone gets pumped up and ready for a great season.  I think that it pumps up a team and gets them ready and makes them want to work hard to give there school something to cheer for.

This isn’t my favorite childhood memory but I remember this one the most and now that i think about it it seems really funny.  Back when I was maybe 5 or 6 my family and I went to Pennsylvania for the weekend.  My mom went to the shower and my dad took me outside to the playground.  I was outside for maybe 2 minutes and I went on a merry go round.  Now i never went on one of these before and it looked like fun.  So I got on and my dad said, “Hold on tight,” and with that he spun it and I wasn’t ready and I wound up getting a face full of mulch.  It tasted horrible, I hated it, and I’ll never forget that memory and how mad my mom was when I came back into the room.  It’s not my favorite but one of my most memorable ones.

I would say that this quote means that even if you are beat and thrown to the ground that you have to get back up and fight for what you want. If i lost a basketball game by 1 but i played a great game, i would have to try and get up and play a better game next game and try to win. Its happened to me before and I’ve tried the hardest to fight back and things don’t always go the way you planned.

It makes me feel inspired and makes you look at negative problems in almost a positive way. It helps and if you looked at this quote after a tough time i could guarantee that you would feel better and want to try harder and harder each time.

Yes, it was last basketball season and our high school team made it to the county tournament at the end of the year. I had 20 points and we played a great game, the whole team did. We had some unfair calls and made a couple mistakes and we wound up losing by 3 in the end. I was mad that we lost and that we played such a great game but just came up short. But we came back and wound up being 15-3 at the end of the season and came in second place. And I’m looking foward to the upcoming season.

Hello, everyone. I’m a sophomore at St. Mary High School and I live in Rutherford. Last night in Rutherford, New Jersey, there was a tragic accident at the train station. Not everybody knew about it right away and some of you still might not know what happened. A car with license plates from North Carolina was stopped at the train tracks going into East Rutherford. The couple got impatient and decided to try to go around and thought they could make it. However, they were hit by the train and the car blew up and they were both killed instantly. The car was also split in half. I feel that what happened didn’t make much sense because you can still hear the train coming and why would you want to take a risk? They still were cleaning up the mess this morning and this accident stopped a lot of transportation and made many problems this morning. I feel bad for those people but in a way they should’ve known not to do that. But everyone who knows feels sad and we all realize now that is a lesson for taking a risk that if your not sure, you shouldn’t take.
